Maker Space, free in person and online visual and digital arts workshops. For young Deaf and Disabled people aged 18 – 25 at any skill level. Beginners welcome! This is a safe space for making art, socialising and creating community with your peers.

We are running taster workshops throughout October! This is your chance to test out Maker Space! We will run the full program in 2024.

Taster Workshops will:

  • focus on different mediums
  • be facilitated by an established Deaf and Disabled artist
  • give you access to creative spaces to make art and connect with your peers

Visual Maker Space

Saturday 7 October – Air dry clay with Pey Chi

Saturday 21 October – Illustration/drawing with Chelle Destefano

Time: 11.30 am - 3 pm

Where: Signal, Flinders Walk

Access: Wheelchair Accessible, Auslan Available, Quiet Space room, Support workers avalable, Asistantace Animals welcome

Digital Maker Space

Saturday 14 October  –  Ableton Live with Geryon

Time: 11.30 am - 3 pm

Where: The Channel, Arts Centre Melbourne

Online Maker Space

We are running Visual and Digital Maker Space via Zoom on Wednesdays

Wednesday 11 October, 11:30 am to 1:30 pm - Air dry clay workshop with Pey Chi 

Wednesday 18 October, 6 to 8 pm - Ableton Live with Geryon

Wednesday 25 October, 6 to 8 pm - Illustration/drawing with Chelle

Maker Space Program - 2024

About Maker Space

We are running a serires of workshops thoughout 2024 to help you learn new skills and give you the resources to create new works and new friends!

The workshops will be broken down into terms where we will cover new skills, always centring your saftey social connection and needs. All workshops will be in person and online. 

Term 1 - 3 will focuse on visual and digital arts workshop. 

Term 4 will focus on professional development and digital accessibility.  

Term 5 will be studio time fort you to exsperiment with facilitatortating artists, leading up to an exhibition (in person at a gallery and online) in late October – early November. 

We encourage you to take part in every term.
